Here’s what we want you to know about Bikram Yoga Baltimore…
We care about you and we care about our community. We want you to come to Bikram Yoga Baltimore to discover who you can be and all that you can accomplish. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t let fear or anxiety keep you from CHANGING YOUR LIFE.
Bikram Yoga is designed for people of all ages and all skill levels. We know firsthand what it can do to improve your life and that’s exactly why we’re inviting you to experience it for yourself.
We understand that trying something new can be a little scary. That’s why we’ve put together this website to answer some of your questions upfront. But the best way to see if it’s right for you – is to join us!
Coming to Class
No prior reservation is required for any class and all classes are designed for beginners. However, as a first-timer, please be sure to arrive at the studio 20 minutes before class time. This allows time for registration, including our waiver, and for us to answer any questions you may have. This also ensure that you to have a stress-free start…a great way to begin your yoga practice.
Wear clothes you can sweat and stretch in, and bring a yoga mat, a towel, and lots of water (you can rent the mat and towel, and purchase water from us if you can’t bring your own).
During Class
The key to success in Bikram Yoga is what Bikram calls “Trying the Right Way.” Even if you can only do 10% of the posture, focus on the technique first and the rest will follow in time. Throughout the class, the instructor will announce the posture and describe correct technique so you can follow along with the series easily.
While we give you all the instructions you need in class, things can move quickly. If you feel like you need some extra help, we offer posture clinics, workshops, and one on one help – just ask us for details.
After Class
Showers are available if you want to clean up after class. This is definitely one of the things our students love about BYB!
Be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the rest of the day. Your body will need to be rehydrated after that workout.
It’s also important to come back to class as soon as you can – the next day is best! This way, you quickly see the cumulative benefits of the yoga and your body is able to more rapidly adapt to it.
